Hey there, gadget lovers! If you love reading books on the go, I have some very exciting news for you today. A brand new, super tiny e-reader called the Boox Picco is finally open for pre-orders.
You might have seen a sneak peek of it on the Boox website a couple of weeks ago. Now, it is officially ready for you to buy. The best part? It only costs $100!
Let us take a closer look at this tiny device. We will talk about why people are talking about it, what it can do, and if you should spend your money on it.
What is the Boox Picco?
Most e-readers you see in stores are quite big. Think about devices like the Amazon Kindle or the Kobo Clara. They usually have screens that are about 6 or 7 inches wide. They are great for sitting on the couch, but they can feel heavy in a small bag or a coat pocket.
The Boox Picco is completely different. It is a tiny e-reader. It is built for people who want to read anywhere, anytime, without carrying a big bag. It is small enough to fit right in your pocket. Think of it like a smartphone, but made just for reading books.
Why Are People So Excited About It?
There are a few big reasons why this little gadget is getting so much attention online:
- It fits in your pocket: You do not need a backpack or a purse. Just slip it into your jeans or jacket pocket, and you are ready to go.
- It is very cheap: At just $100, it does not cost a lot of money. Many e-readers cost much more than this.
- It runs on Android: This is a huge deal! Unlike standard Kindles, this device lets you download apps. You can use the Kindle app, the Kobo app, or even read web pages.
The Big Benefit: Android Inside
Let talk more about that Android feature. If you use an Android phone, you will feel right at home here.
Many cheap e-readers only let you buy books from one store. If you buy a Kindle, you must read Kindle books. If you buy a Kobo, you must use Kobo.
The Boox Picco lets you use almost any reading app. Do you have books on Google Play Books? You can download the app and read them. Do you use Libby to borrow free books from your local library? You can do that too! This freedom makes the Boox Picco a very smart buy.
Who Should Buy the Boox Picco?
Is this tiny e-reader right for you? Here are a few people who will love it:
- Commuters: If you ride the bus or the train to work or school, this device is amazing. It takes up almost no space in your hand.
- Minimalists: If you hate carrying lots of things, this light and small gadget is a dream come true.
- Budget shoppers: If you want an e-reader but do not want to spend $150 or $200, the $100 price tag is very nice on your wallet.
Things to Keep in Mind
Before you click the pre-order button, remember one important thing. Because the screen is very small, the text will also be small unless you change the settings. If you do not like reading on a small screen, you might prefer a larger e-reader.
Also, e-ink screens are meant for reading text. They are not like your phone or tablet. They do not play colorful videos or fast games well. They are slow, but they are very easy on your eyes.
How to Pre-Order
If you want to grab one, you can go straight to the official Boox website. Pre-orders are live right now for $100.
What do you think of this tiny reader? Do you like small gadgets, or do you prefer a big screen for your books? Let me know your thoughts in the comments below, and happy reading!
